Amazon.com redesigns its website around mobile

In today's wall street journal, I found an article discussing amazon.com's website redesign. Link to article is here.

What I find interesting about this is that their approach is not to have a separate site for mobile and PC browser access. They believe that the simplicity that is required for mobile access has benefits for the user experience of people accessing from the PC. In essence, they believe that the mobile experience is the new paradigm for all end-user access.
